Life Drawing Week. Evaluation and SWOT assessment

I completed a week of life drawing for my course. This was a very different learning experience for me since the few times I have done life drawing in the past it was never to this extent or with an actual life model. I got to try out a whole bunch of different style and techniques using ink, charcoal, chalk and graphite. I think this project really helped my drawing skills when it comes to scale, proportion and scale. I hope I get the opportunity to do this again in future.

Strengths

  • I think i was a bale to create a very wide range of pieces showing a lot of techniques, from highlighting to shading.
  • My life drawing skills improved quite a lot over the course of the project which should help with my drawing skills for future projects.
  • All though it sounds weird I think this project also made me more comfortable with drawing the human form.
Weakness'

  • I'm not that confidant in how my last piece came out (The Day of the Dead themed piece) I think the idea seemed better in my head than the execution and I think i might even of liked the piece more before I added the makeup and patterns. I also wish I had just kept it to pencil instead of adding ink and pen work.
Opportunities

  • Hopefully with the confidence I have gained from this project I will be more comfortable with other life drawing opportunities in future, whether it be other drawing classes or just while im out and see something I feel like drawing.
Threats

  • I can see my final piece being a risk since I don't know how well it will be graded compared to my development work
  • I'm also worried that I wont have enough time to get as much of the written work for the project complete
