Research and Analysis: Moki

While in Berlin for Pictoplasma 2018 with college, I had the opportunity to go to an exhibition showing off some of the work by the artist Moki.

Style

The artist uses a lot of greens and brown in their, that mixed with the painting being on pieces of wood really gets across the nature vibe. I like how some of their work is very cartoon with thick bold line and then other pieces are much more detailed and realistic looking. My favourite piece of theirs I saw at the exhibit was defiantly the case with the 3D scene.

Technique

I like how varied the techniques are, the artist uses a wide range of mediums from painting  to creating physical 3D scenes using a mixture of materials and soft goods.

Concept

I can see the concept of the work being the relationship between nature and urban environments. in a lot of the pieces the characters shown in wooded areas seem far happier than those depicted in more built up areas.
